Trends come and go, some more quickly than others, and that’s why we’re highlighting our favorite interior design elements that transcend trends and can be mixed in with any decor style with images taken from our Instagram. The below list covers a wide variety of design styles so we’re sure you’ll find something you will also love and want to incorporate into your home. Whether you decide to love them or leave them, these are the five interior elements we can’t get enough of.

Elegant Blues and Other Soft Hues
We don’t think we could ever get tired of a classic blue and white interior and lucky for us our feed has been overflowing with them lately. Blue interiors embrace you in calm and comfort, and soft blue accents compliment so many design styles and overall color palettes. This beautiful master bedroom designed by Lisa Wallace Interiors mixes and matches the same shade of blue in different fabrics and patterns to make a cozy master bedroom oasis for her client.

Deliciously, Unapologetically Maximalist
More is more is more! We love when homeowners fully embrace their hobbies, passions and eccentricities and surround themselves with literally everything that makes them happy. Maximalism is characterized by mixed patterns, excessive but thoughtfully curated collections and bold colors and this Moulin Rouge Movie Lounge designed by Courtnay Tarte Elias of Creative Tonic Design is unlike any movie room we’ve ever seen! The longer you look at it the more special, quirky details you find. We LOVE it!

Wallpapers That Transport You
Panoramic or mural wallpapers add so much to a room. They make them feel larger, add depth and texture and can transport you into another world. Landscape and boatnical wallpapers have seen a huge rise in popularity and for good reason! Just look at this gorgeous wallpaper used in this primary bedroom design by CDB Interiors.

More, More More Metallics
Bringing metallic accents into your home has always and will always be popular, but we’re just feeling it a little extra right now, especially with the weather cooling down here in Texas and Autumn officially upon us! Metallic accents in any shade feel like a warm cup of cider and the warm glow of a crackling fire, enveloping your home in a magical glow. Okay maybe we’re romanticizing fall a little bit here but still, we love metallics right now! This shot of Sherrell Design Studio’s home showing off her collection of gold frames makes us want to head to Roundtop to find our own collection of treasures! And the little extra detail of the golden light switch plates? Divine!
Transforming Old To New
We are obviously huge supporters of refinishing furniture and accessories to give them new life. Changing a dated dresser to a more modern style helps your items grow along with you throughout the years. It’s sustainable, inexpensive and a wonderful way to get creative in your designs. We’ve also seen so many talented people on Youtube and Instagram refinishing and flipping old or discarded furniture and all we have to say is wow! People are so talented and we love seeing DIY-ers putting in a little time, elbow grease and creative ingenuity to transform an item into something totally different. If you’ve been considering redoing a piece of furniture in your home but sanders, saws and stains aren’t necessarily your forte, don’t worry, we’re here for you! Check out our work on our Projects page and see some of the things we’ve flipped, fixed or created from scratch. We’re always here to help!
